Our school provides a nurturing and supportive environment where all children have the opportunity to reach their potential. A range of extra-curricular programs allows children to participate in activities outside of the classroom, make new friends, develop new interests, and strengthen their social and intellectual growth.
Student leadership opportunities
Children in Year 6 have the opportunity of holding specialised leadership positions. Children are encouraged to apply for the positions of School Captain, Sports House Captain, Indigenous Captain and Music Captain.
Children in Year 4, 5 and 6 can apply for the role of Class Representative for the Student Council.
Performing Arts: School musical
Every two years, our school produces and stages a musical involving students across Year 3 to Year 6.
Students develop confidence and skills of focus and commitment as well as the love of music and performing that they can carry with them throughout their life.
Instrumental Music Program
We offer an Instrumental Music Program for students in Years 4, 5 and 6 for brass, woodwind and percussion instruments.
The strings program commences in Year 3. Lessons occur during the school day.
School choir and small vocal performance groups
Our school offers an extensive choral program for students. Children from Year 2 to Year 6 can audition to join one of the school’s choirs, or one of the smaller small vocal performance groups. Children rehearse during break times and perform in and around our community as well as compete at local eisteddfods.
Cheerleading
Students from Year 4 have the opportunity of auditioning to join our champion cheerleading team. This is an incredible opportunity for students to develop their skills, coordination and flexiblity within a close knit group who display their talents at a school and local level as well as competing in cheerleading competitions against groups from across Australia.
Interest clubs
A range of special interest clubs are run across the school by our dedicated staff. Children can choose to attend on a regular or one-off basis. Clubs can include chess , athletics club, drama, garden club, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Club. These opportunities are held during break times as well as before and after school.
