This week we farewell Cathy Taylor. For many years now, Cathy's main portfolio has been in managing and leading the Resource Centre and all that goes with such an important area of school operations. This is often complex and challenging work but Cathy was able to multi-task as the requests for assistance came in, as she has a no nonsense, get the job done attitude. In such a role you have to be patient, willing to listen, understanding, caring, supportive, consistent, compassionate, adaptable, flexible, firm but fair and above all have the best interest of the student as your main focus. Cathy demonstrated all these attributes and more. Cathy could be described as relaxed in approach, gentle in nature, generous with her time, always cheerful and friendly and genuine in her approach to all she did. She has a fabulous sense of humour and was always cheerful and friendly.
Cathy has been the mainstay of Coolum Carnival for over 20 years. She has left an indelible stamp on Coolum's biggest and most successful community event. We thank her for her dedication and professionalism that she has shown over a thirty-six year period as a parent and teacher at Coolum State School. The significant contribution that Cathy has made to education at Coolum State School cannot be understated. Cathy has demonstrated a great commitment to the Coolum School community and to the wider Coolum community. We extend our thanks and appreciation to Cathy for her contributions and loyalty to Coolum State School and I trust that all members of the Coolum School Community will join me in wishing her the best for a long and fulfilling retirement.
