Development Cup

On Tuesday the Coolum State School U12 team played the fourth round of the NRL Development Cup against Banksia Beach State School.

The team travelled to the Bribie Island JRL Club ready for a tough encounter. In the past this school has always challenged the Coolum Team.

Early in the game both teams scored tries, but Coolum was successful with their conversions and took a narrow lead. Later in the half Banksia Beach began to throw the ball around and made it difficult for Coolum to defend.

The second half saw Banksia Beach control the ball with very few mistakes. Coolum spent most of their time defending and found it difficult to get through the opposition defensive line. The Coolum Team never stopped trying, but unfortunately, could not make up the lead by Banksia Beach. The final score was 22 points to 12 in favour of the opposition.

All the boys played with great determination and never gave up, but only one player was selected as Man of the Match. Congratulations to Kai Drake!

Thank you to all parents for their assistance in transport and continual support of the team.
