We have been in lengthy negotiations with Energex, the Project Manager and Government Departments re upgrading the power supply to the school. This is the first component of the project as we needed to ensure that there is sufficient power coming into the school from Energex to run air-conditioners, computers, lights etc. Last week we were able to see the final proposal from Energex of how the upgrade would take place. It includes shifting and upgrading the pole from the southern side of the school to the eastern side of the school. The power supply will be upgraded from 400A to 630A.  The lead up time for the pole installation is 26 weeks. The pole is scheduled to be installed over the Christmas break. This is necessary as power to the school is closed down for one week.

Following the upgrade to the power supply an electrical upgrade has to be undertaken within the school site. New sub mains, cabling, circuit breakers, internal board upgrades, RCD’s and increased surge protection will be undertaken during the electrical upgrade. Once the electrical upgrade is underway we can then look at installing the air-conditioners.
