Technology involves the design and development of new products and new ways of doing things. It combines creative thinking and practical problem solving skills.

Within society the processes of Technology are used to build new knowledge and create the diverse range of products which we use each day. Through Technology these products are constantly updated and refined to meet our changing needs and wants.

During the last century the pace of Technology has continued to increase making it even more important that students understand the processes by which new technologies are developed and feel capable of participating in the design and development of new and emerging technologies.

Technology education also provides students with a critical framework through which they can comment upon and critique technological change.
