- A major refurbishment of the Resource Centre was completed in April 2006. The new air-conditioned Resource Centre now houses a consolidated collection and there is also a spacious lab, flexible teaching spaces and multimedia rooms, allowing for the innovative use of ICTs in the curriculum.
Facilites available:
- over 50 000 resources in print, hands-on, electronic and digital forms
- comprehensive print reference section
- variety of fiction to meet interest and reading levels
- extensive non-fiction collection to support curriculum and meet students' interests
- expanding teacher reference section
- extensive collection of guided and home reading books
- ever increasing maths resource collection
- designated multi-media workstation
- equipment such a still and digital cameras, data projectors, laptop computers and scanners
Services provided:
- personal assistance with location and selection of resources
- individualised instruction in using Library and its facilities
- timetabled class borrowing sessions
- maintainance of central records for all school non-consumable resources
- collaborative planning and preparation of materials to support class programs
- ready access through opening hours
- selection of bulk loans to support teaching units and for reading and research
- maintain many school resources
- OPAC access from all classroom and lab workstations
- displays to promote reading, information skills and special events
- help with planning purchases and the buying of new resources
- conduct group research sessions
- co-ordination of timetables for computer lab, multimedia rooms, activities hall and teacher planning area
- recreational activities during lunch breaks
- suggestions for the integration of ICT into classroom activities
- appropriate individual web sites provided to support class units
Information and Communication Technologies
- facilities include 30 seat lab of internet-connected PCs, Smartboards, digital microscopes, scanners
- wide range of application and learning software
