CLASSROOM ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM:
Education Queensland provides the majority of the funding for the day to day operations of the school. These funds are supplemented by the P & C Association and the Classroom Enhancement Program.
The Classroom Enhancement Program is designed to enhance the educational opportunities for the children across the school. The money is vital in covering extra Teacher/Classroom resources such as: Cassette and Video Tapes, batteries, photocopying, laminating, cooking ingredients, additional stationery items, additional Arts and Crafts items, computer/printing ink and much more.
The classroom enhancement fee is revised each year at the October P & C meeting. The classroom enhancement money is distributed evenly across the school.
We ask that the money is paid at the start of the school year so that the children can benefit from the extra resources for the entire year.
While there are obvious benefits for your child’s education from this program, participation in this program is voluntary.

UNIFORMS:
The P&C of the Coolum State School resolves that it supports a student dress code policy for Coolum State School because it believes that a student dress code policy at Coolum State School promotes the objectives of the Education Act 1989, and in particular that it:
· promotes a safe environment for learning by enabling ready identification of students and non-students of the school;
· promotes an effective teaching and learning environment by eliminating the distraction of competition in dress and fashion at the school;
· promotes a supportive environment at the school by fostering a sense of belonging; and
· fosters mutual respect among individuals at the school by minimising visible evidence of economic, class or social differences.
· Hair cuts need to promote a neat and sensible image. Hair colouring is not permitted.
· Watches, small discreetly worn necklaces and earring (sleepers and studs) are the only jewellery permitted at school.
· Nail polish is NOT permitted.
