On Friday 25 May we are holding the official opening of our new hall during Senior Parade. Everyone is invited to come along. Morning Tea will be available afterwards as part of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. (Pat Cavanagh)

NAPLAN

A huge thank you to everyone: the students who participated, the teachers who administered and the parents who encouraged. The three days of testing went very smoothly and our students diligently applied themselves to the tests. Make up tests for students who were absent will be conducted tomorrow. The tests are then sent back to be marked and the results come back around October. WELL DONE.

Classroom News from 1F

In 1F we have been learning about numbers to 50. We have been writing about characters using describing words such as glittering, sparkly, pink, greedy and beautiful. We learned to use a pronoun instead of the character’s name every time to make our writing flow.

We have also been looking at changing the properties of materials. We changed the properties of paper to build a strong bridge and make a playground. We are getting excited about changing a material to build a boat.

Under 8’s Day

We are gearing up for Under 8’s Day which will be held on Wednesday 6 June. More information and a permission note will be sent home to all Prep, Year 1 and 2 families soon. Under 8’s Day is one of the highlights of the school year. Every class have planned creative and fun activities. Community groups will be well represented. We look forward to a great day. Parents and caregivers are very welcome and encouraged to attend and join in the fun. Please mark this day on your calendar. (Ross Naumann)
